If anger, conflicts, depression, or anxieties are impacting your relationship, you will gain and learn proven approaches that work to help you manage conflicts, which can enhance your relationship and your life.

Because working with couples is one of my professional passions, I'd like to share with you a little about my professional experience. I have extensive

training and knowledge to support you as you develop the relationship you crave. I am one of only a few Certified Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Therapists in Utah. The Emotionally Focused Therapy model prioritizes attachment and views human beings as innately relational and wired for intimate bonding with others. EFT for couples is the gold standard for empirically validated intervention in the field of couple and relationship therapy.

I am also a level 3 Gottman therapist and utilize the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, and Dan Wile's Collaborative Couple Therapy. I utilize proven research-based techniques in my work with couples.

The Gottman Method of Couples Therapy is based on Dr. John Gottman's research that began in the 1970s and continues to this day. The research has focused on what makes relationships succeed or fail. From this research, specific tools were developed to deepen friendship and intimacy in your relationship. To help you productively manage conflicts, you will be given methods to manage problems and dialogue about gridlocked (or perpetual) issues. I have also received advanced training with Drs. Bader and Pearson of The Couples Institute. Known worldwide for their pioneering work in couples therapy, they speak at major conferences and conduct training throughout the world. While living in California, I was fortunate to have trained with Dr. Dan Wile in Collaborative Couple Therapy. Dr. Gottman referred to Dr. Wile as the "greatest living marital therapist."

On average, many couples have considered therapy for about 8 years before they actually enter therapy. The work we do in therapy can feel overwhelming, yet it is also empowering! Some goals in couples therapy include increasing your awareness about yourself, your partner, and your interaction and communication patterns that are helpful or perhaps not so helpful. The benefits of couples therapy can be truly felt as you apply new knowledge and tools to shatter ineffective patterns and build better patterns.

I hope you can see my dedication to the field of couples therapy and I hope you experience the benefits of our work together as your relationship develops and evolves.
